What Would Varla Do?

Last night I met Varla Jean Merman. I saw her music videos, her trip to Tokyo where she gets into a cat fight with Hello Kitty, and her new designer denim line: "Varla Jeans."

She is absolutely brilliant. It is some of the best video art and performance I've seen in years. Many an experimental, queer, campy artist has taken from Miss Varla. We were dancing later, and I was channeling Varla. A new inspiration is born.
