The Forum ...

A commissioning editor from the BBC described himself and his colleagues as "bloated overfed show dogs" without appetites. It kind of shows from the projects they've pushed forward for pitching. My editor is angry because it seems like the passion is no longer present in the filmmaking or the projects... "we've seen that, we've heard that..." if you're so bored with what's out there, open the door and let some air in. Where are the women's projects? The Latin American projects? It is both uninspiring and inspiring. Women, sex, violence, boundaries - that's where its at.

Have about 4 movies to see today/tonight, one looks particularly interesting, from a young woman's perspective from Tijuana.

I need to get a treatment/budget and synopsis to 4 scandanavians and one Australian by the end of this week -- but this not so fancy hotel is drilling in my ear and everyone in the lobby is smoking...

Tomorrow is a bike tour around Amsterdam and a jaunt to the Rijks museum on our break. It is Rembrandt's birthday ...
