A Day Without Incident

It passed. Almost done. Not so bad. A bit draggy and tired, but I think its just the weather and my slight hangover from last night's lovely dinner and balcony drink fest with Tom. "Balcony" means "Fire escape."

This day was a lot harder last year, I felt really bad. But maybe something in yesterday's triumph and last night spent really talking about the glorious challenges of the film makes today not so bad.

Have fun happy hour drink followed by movie with Kristen and chill dinner.

Not too bad. I do feel a little bad that my friend did not remember (I reminded her last week) but I'm in a good place. Last year she was cute and took me to lunch, this year things feel different. So fuck it.

But what's an "anniversary" anyway? A time to sit and marvel at all the crazy shit that has happened since this time last year. I've been to Israel... I think it was this time last year that I felt so bad because I needed to work on my film that I cooked up the idea to go to Israel to work. And came back with my narrative. Before I left, I cooked up a scheme to investigate the brothels, and I actually pulled it off. Met someone great in the process. Have met two more potential collaborators... streamlined my life a bit, and happily can say, have moved forward. I passed the five year hump. Still got a couple more on the statute, if I decide to go that route.

Jerusalem film festival opened last night... got a call from my cousin who was at the theater, and happy to inform me that he got engaged and that our other cousin had her baby. Israel is calling again. (If a full scale war doesn't start first)

Hey Sisterfriend,

Congrats on crossing the 5-year hump. Has it really been that long? Wow.

Sending you a big hug and a huge "you go girl" - keep up the amazing work!

Your sisterfriend,
Leah
