Bill Clinton and Bad Sushi

Went to a fundraiser last night with Bill Clinton. Well he packed the auditorium, sadly there were no opportunities to touch or meet him face to face - that's only for HIV victims or Big Donors. I wore a foxy dress, but no matter. The crowd was friendly, I knew a lot of people and got to introduce my mom to some of my favorite Jewish Feminists and supporters. Jazz at Lincoln Center is a gorgeous space, but the food was kosher crap.

Bill sort of rambled, Ann Curry's mic was too low, and the entire message was sadly diffuse. After we saw the video my mom questioned her decision to give funding, scratching her head to figure out what exactly she is giving her money to... this is probably NOT the desired effect.

The world these days are beset with conflict. Bill's discussion of Palestine was disturbing, "If they'donly stop dumpin' on each other, and realize their sim-i-laritees, wull, they'd stop killin each other... " I'm not sure how this left leaning crowd of Jewish do-gooders felt in the "shucks, let's not hate the Arabs" kind of environment. Was hard to tell, Billy C. is such a superstar.

Conflict in general will hopefully be seeping out of my life at least for a little while. I'm waiting in breathless anticipation.

Off to Silver Docs tomorrow, but my moderator got sick, so still have no clear sense about what we're talking about, where to go, what time, etc. Maybe they're calling it off? That would be nice.
