Friday Morning in Brooklyn Criminal Court

I went to support my friend's mother in court today. Nothing happened because one attorney didn't show up, so it got pushed to another day.

A completely blustery Brooklyn morning, interesting and sad to see who blows in and out of the court house. To think people spend their whole lives in and out of the court house. This is a system (our system) of law that they become experts in. In large letters over the judge's head was: In God We Trust.

What did happen was that I got to see the defendents' families and they got to see me. They may have thought I was the victim. Some sat directly behind us, others sat across the room. Tension does not begin to describe the energy.

I have so much to say, but don't think its appropriate to do it here.
