Sunset in NYC

Gosh, we had a good day yesterday. Not extremely productive film wise, we were expecting to be out with Kent and Sunset until the wee hours, but the evening was cut short at 5pm.

Sunset was in town promoting "Vibra Strip" an all natural breath mint sex enhancer that is actually quite tasty and pretty fun. She was on Opie and Anthony radio show yesterday morning (see the tank top) and doing some feature dancing in Long Island this weekend. We had quite a day, her investor, an elderly gentleman, formerly of Bayonne, NJ, is in his 70's. The pinky rings and tiny stature tell so many stories... we ate delicious Italian food with Investor, Cameraman, Sunset, Kent, and two friends of Kent who picked up the tab. BEST ITALIAN FOOD I've had in a long time, Bellato's on Houston Street.

Investor regaled us with stories and complained that he once ate "Calamar so tough, a goat couldn't get through it!" I slurped down linguine and fresh clams with a porn star and a mafioso...nice. The Investor used to be in the "night club business" which is sort of the umbrella term for all things related to: sex, gambling and er, other things. A treasure of a man.

We then followed Kent on a tour of his old stomping grounds of Little Italy and followed Sunset around giving autographs and turning heads, because bleach blonde adult stars and old Italian men together, on a Thursday afternoon, are a sight to see.

We finished our day in McSorley's pub and watched the owner of the pub win $40,000 on a horse race. On the spot. Guess who treated the table to free beers? I was also informed by a "regular", 7th generation Irish man and 7th generation McSorley's fan, that he assumed the Sunset was an escort -- beautiful, blonde with an elderly gentleman, but he also thought I WAS AN ESCORT! The company you keep...

I feel protective of Sunset. She autographed a photo for me that Kent came up with:
"I want to grab your ass at the Academy Awards" It is getting framed!

Hey, Nancy.

My son is the 7th generation.

Read about your life experiences. I commend you for taking your own story and turning it into something positive. We need more like you.

The "escort service" comment was a compliment; you know that.

When the city is in the grip of winter's lasstiude--it could be a grim Tuesday in Jan--I'll see you sitting at the round table, just north of the old pot belly stove. We'll share some ale and watch the dust particles dance in the streaming light. Maybe we can unearth the shards of uncollected and untold stories.

My best,
Chas

Thanks, Chas! This heat almost makes me wish it were January again. Yes, I know it was a compliment, I'm strangely complimented by it, just pretending not to be. I'll definitely keep you informed of the movie's progress.

Take care, Nance
